A Very Worrying Phone Call...

I spoke to R, my very close relative in Baghdad...his health is not good at all. He is a cardiac patient, he just lost his wife who died very suddenly...and he lost his job. Of course he lives in a Sunni ghetto.

Seeing that there are no real doctors left in Iraq and that all juniors ones who have not even finished medical school are treating complex cases, R.calls me, quite frantic...

- Layla I just got the lab results, the donkey doctor said go see a specialist, I can't do anything for you...

- What are the readings ?

R. told me briefly. His blood test values are not normal range at all...some are too elevated and require urgent attention, like very urgent.

- R, I think you should absolutely go and see a specialist... (hoping there's at least one specialist left in Iraq)

- Layla, he's supposed to be a specialist...

- go find another one, this one does not seem to know anything...there's not much I can do from here except give you a diagnosis with different possibilities as to why these blood values are not normal...you really ought to see a specialist like now !

- I can't...

- What do you mean you can't...Is it money ?

- Not just that...it's election time...

- What ?! What have the elections got to do with your seeing a specialist immediately ?

- Laylaaaaaa can't you understand we can't leave the house at all ?!

- Listen I know all about the "Katem", the silencer gun, but to that extent ?

- What's the matter with you, don't you hear the news ?! We can't leave the house, it's too dangerous, we can get killed any minute with the silencer for no reason at all...

I could not reply anything...what can I say -- Brave the bullets so you won't die from a heart attack ?

This is really too much...this is becoming almost ridiculous, ludicrous, even though there is absolutely nothing ridiculous or ludicrous about it...

What on earth has gripped Iraq since the SAVAGE Americans and their coalition of animals invaded us ?!

I suppose they are applying the cowboy's, bible toting, Yankee Bremer's advice when he asked in 2003 --

"What's the population of Iraq?" and one of his assistants replied " about 24 million "

"That much? Let's bring it down to 5 million. That should be enough"

Genocide upon Genocide, shrouded in Silence...

On another note*, Al-Lami, Chalabi's "best friend" was in Sadr City last week, attending a large rally and told the "faithful" crowd that in the past 6 years they had not achieved anything great (bringing down the Sunnis of Baghdad  through sectarian cleansing to less than 10% is not anything great in the eyes of these Iran's lovers) and maybe the only great thing they truly achieved was the expulsion of Saleh Al-Mutlaq and barring him from the elections. Had they not done so, according to Chalabi's "best friend" Al-Lami, Saddam Hussein's Iraqi Revolutionary Guards would be back in power...

It seems also that well over 600 so-called "Baathists" will be chucked out from the ministries of Interior and Defense.

This most likely explains why R. can't even leave his front door, even though he's no Baathist. He just happens to live in a Sunni Ghetto...

* Thanks A.H for some of the info.
